When your institution sets a test to App, it opens only in Medhank Desktop — your test card says so. Install it a day or two before, sign in, and run the checks, so the day itself starts on time.

Download and install
Use the button on this page — it picks the version for your computer. Install it on the computer you will sit the test on.

Sign in with your test account
The same email your institution invited. Your tests appear in the app exactly as they do on the website.

Open your test and run the checks
Allow camera, microphone and screen recording when your computer asks. On a Mac, that is in System Settings, under Privacy & Security.

On the day, start from the app
Close other applications, open Medhank, and start the test there. Do the first three steps a day or two before.

Before you start and while you sit, it looks for AI assistants, screen recorders and remote-access tools your institution does not allow, and tells your proctor if one is running.

It reads the displays connected to your computer directly from the operating system, which a website cannot do, and asks you to disconnect one when the test allows only one.

Your answers

Kept safe on your device

Every answer is saved in an encrypted journal on your computer as you go, so a lost connection or a restart does not lose your work.

This version does not lock down your computer. Your proctor supervises the sitting and reviews what the app reports; nothing it finds ends your test on its own.

It recognises known tools by name and by what is written inside them. A renamed or modified tool, or a second device beside you, can still go unnoticed — which is why a person, not the app, decides.

what is new.

Tests now start for institutions that also require the Medhank browser extension. The app runs its own checks and no longer asks for the extension.
The ID-card check can no longer get stuck on "checking". If the card cannot be read in time, the photo is kept for your proctor and you carry on.
The ID reader gets ready while you take your face photo, and retakes no longer start it again.
An answer saved on your device is cleared only once the server confirms it received it.
