Before your test

Install the extension.
It takes a minute.

Some tests will not start without it. It checks what is open in your browser at the moment you begin — and it is deliberately narrow about how.

Install it on the computer you will sit the test on — it cannot be added on a phone or a tablet. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, version 116 or newer. Safari and Firefox cannot run it: the two browser APIs it needs do not exist there, so there is no reduced version to offer.

It counts things.
It does not read them.

Runs only on medhank.com.Inert on every other site.Install once, for every test.

Three things,
at the moment you start.

Checked at the gate, and watched for the length of the paper.

Assistants

AI sidebars and remote control

Which of your installed extensions match a published list of AI assistants, remote-desktop tools and screen recorders. These run inside the page itself, so nothing else — not a screen share, not a camera — would ever find one.

Tabs

How much else is open

The number of other tabs and windows, so you can be asked to close them before you start. Not their titles and not their addresses: the count answers the question, the addresses would answer a different one.

Displays

Mirroring and second screens

How many displays are connected and whether one is mirroring another. The operating system usually presents a mirrored pair as a single display, which is why a web page cannot work this out on its own.

Nothing outside
your browser.

Chrome extensions have no access to the operating system, and this one has no way around that.

It cannot see:

  • WhatsApp, or any other app on your computer
  • A PDF open in another application
  • A second laptop
  • A phone beside you

It also never sends your full list of extensions — only the ones that match the published list — and never the title or the address of any tab.

Three steps,
once.

  1. 1

    Open the listing

The Add to Chrome button opens it in the Chrome Web Store. The extension is unlisted, so it will not come up in a search — this link is how you reach it.

  2. 2

Press Add to Chrome, then Add extension

Chrome will name the permissions it is asking for. They are the three checks above, and what each is for is written out on this page.

  3. 3

Go back to your test and press Check again

You install it once. It stays there for every test you sit after this one, and you do not need to do anything to it between them.

Not working?
Two quick fixes.

Everything it reports is described in full in our privacy notice.

It is installed, but my test will not start
Check that it is switched on at chrome://extensions, then press Check again on the test page.
It says my version is too old
Chrome has not updated it yet. Remove it, then add it again from the Chrome Web Store listing (opens in a new tab).
